Family Life:The family life we have is not very good. The marriages between slaves are not recognized by law. The family members could be sold at any time, most of us married only once, we are living in houses headed by our mothers and fathers, but our parents could not help us from punishment or abuse, but they are helping us to cope with their master's and mistress's maltreatment.
Field and House: We are living on small farms performing a wide variety of tasks alongside with our owners, and most of us are being treated as pets, and we are generally working from sunrise to sunset, except on Sunday
How we are being treated:
We are being treated like property not like people, we would have to do what our master's said, or we would be punished or maybe killed, we had to polish our master's shoes, or whatever our master's told us to do. Some of the slaves tried to escape, but were captured and killed. Also we are getting punishments of getting whipped till we were scared, even sometimes we are being treated worse than animals, and some of us were sold. Sometimes we are taken away from our homes and family's, we get transported in a ship to a foreign country to be sold and to work in terrible conditions with no rites.
